Pay for over 5,000 government service on E-Citizen conveniently through Equity. You can dial *247#​​, use your Equitel​​ line, Equity Mobile App/Equity Online, Eazzy Biz​​ or by visiting your nearest Equity branch/Agent. ( Use Paybill 222222).

1. What is the biller number for making E-Citizen payments?

The New biller number is 222 222. Kindly note that the biller number 206206 is no longer valid.

2. Through what channels can I make E-Citizen payments?

You can make payments through any of the Equity Channels: Dial *247#, Equitel, Equity Mobile App/Equity Online, EazzyBiz,Branch and Agent Networks.

3. What are the transaction charges for making E-Citizens payments via *247#, Equitel, Equity Mobile App, Equity Online, EazzyBiz, Branch and Agent Networks?

You will be charged Ksh 30 plus excise duty for payments made on our Channels.

4. Are the E-Citizens payments instant?

Yes, all payment transaction via *247#, Equitel, Equity App/Equity Online, EazzyBiz, Branch and Agent Networks are instant.

5. Can a non-Equity customer pay through the Equity Agent or Branch?

Yes, all customers both non-equity and equity customers, can make payments through an Equity Branch and Equity Agent.

6. What is the payment process?

  • Visit www.ecitizen.go.ke and sign in or register
  • Select the service you require and complete the process.
  • As part of the transaction process, you will receive a Reference Number
  • Pay instantly through any of your preferred Equity Channel: *247#, Equitel, Equity Mobile App/Equity Online, EazzyBiz, Equity Branch and Agent Networks. Remember to capture the Reference Number.
  • Upon payment proceed to complete the transaction on the E-Citizen portal

7. How do I make E-Citizen payments via *247#?

Dial *247# > Select Pay Bill > Enter Business Number > Enter 222 222 > Enter Reference Number > Enter Amount > Enter Pin
  • 8. How do I make E-Citizen payments on the Equitel line?

    Select Sim Tool Kit > Select My Money > Select Pay Bills > Enter Business Number > Enter Reference Number > Enter Amount > Enter Pin and complete the transaction.
  • 9. How to make E-Citizen payments on Equity Mobile/Equity Online?

    Select Transact > Paybill > Enter the Biller > Enter 222222 > Enter Reference Number > Enter Amount >Enter PIN or OTP and complete the payment.
  • 10. How do I make E-Citizen payments at the Branch?

    Present Reference Number > Present Cash > Teller will process the transaction > Receipt Issued
  • 11. How do I make E-Citizen payments on EazzyBiz?

    • Login to your EazzyBiz Portal (Marker) Select Payments > Data Maintenance > Payee > Service Provider> Select ECITIZEN > Service Type> Select ECITIZEN > Consumer Number/Identifier > Enter (Enter eCitizen Reference Number) > Submit > Confirm.
    • Login to your EazzyBiz Portal (Approver)
    • Select Payments > Pending Activities > Payee > Authorize.
    • To initiate the transaction, Select Payments > Initiate > Payments > Bill Payment > Select Debit Account > Select Service Provider ECITIZEN > Enter Payment Amount > Submit > Confirm How do I make E-Citizen payments at the Equity Agent? Present Reference Number > Present Cash > Agent will process the transaction > Receipt Issued
  • 12. What is the evidence of successful payment?

    On *247# and Equitel you will get a notification SMS on your phone as evidence of payment.

    On Equity Mobile App/Equity Online/ EazzyBiz, you will get a notification SMS on your phone as evidence of payment. 

    You can also download receipt after completing the transaction. At the Branch and Equity Agent, you will be issued with a payment receipt as evidence of payment.

  • 13. Will I be needed to complete the transaction on E-Citizen portal after making the branch payment?

    Yes, completion of the process on the E-Citizen portal is required for the payment of service to be completed and validated.
